(MidWavi Pro Version 2.99 - *NEW* 60 day trial - Released 12th September 2007)

_______________________________________
_______________________________________
All support for Windows 98/98 SE & Me from Microsoft ceased on 11th July 2006!
For example, the regular monthly update for August 2006 to XP Pro was over 8MB in size, and none of this will be provided for Win 9.x & Me systems any more!!!
We will attempt to keep supporting these now out-dated Operating Systems, but cannot of course give any firm assurances that MidWavi Pro will work on Operating Systems that Microsoft will no longer be supporting.
However, Windows 95 and NT4 are no longer supported in MidWavi Pro (2.96 and on).
Microsoft support has now also ceased for Windows XP SP1.
You are urged, if possible, to move on to Windows XP (Home or Pro) SP3 (or whatever).

For Microsoft confirmation of this, see here.

Without wishing to sound too alarmist, our best advice is, if you are still on the Windows 9.x series, stay off the Internet after July 11th 2006...why...because every possible exploit will be found and used against it with no hope of a fix (patch) from Microsoft.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Please note that MidWavi Pro IS NOT Spyware/Adware (we tried Adware with Conducent (Ver 2.71), but that didn't work!)
MidWavi Pro now checks to see whether it is running from a CD ROM or other removable media. If so, suitable warnings are issued regarding non-removal of the CD or media and also offers an option to Exit if a single CD Drive system is detected.
MidWavi Pro version 2.99 (see Registered Users Only Downloads for full details)
It is now possible to download a file which, when run, will create a CDR or CDRW Disc with no user intervention (in terms of settings) whatsoever!
Important information on the Create CD download!!!
We have discovered that this download may not work on all systems.
It would appear that it will only work on systems that have at least one CD drive, that is, if you only have a DVD drive, it will probably not detect this and therefore not work (that is, at least one CD only drive and the rest can be DVD/CD).
These are the requirements as suggested by the Net-Burner authors:

(July 2004...you can add Windows XP support to the above list)
Please note that it appears that you must have at least one CD (not DVD) drive on your system for this to work!
MidWavi Pro 2.74 (and on) relies on you having a so-called ASPI layer (driver) installed in order for the freedb functions to operate. If your system has CD burning software installed, you will probably be ok, if not, you might require an ASPI driver.
If MidWavi Pro cannot access your CD drive(s) - i.e. errors are reported - please visit the link below, download the file aspi!.exe (it's only 157K ) and run it (that is, install it).
On some systems, even with the above driver, external CD/DVD (i.e. USB Drives etc.) Drives will not be detected by the freedb 'engine'...this release should improve on the quality of warnings issued in this situation. MidWavi Pro should always recognise all Drives (and therefore play Audio CD's from any of your Drives), but you may not be able to use external Drives with the freedb option.
One workaround that appears to overcome this problem is:
If you own a registered copy of Nero
(Ahead software) that is installed on your system, copy the file WNASPI32.DLL
from the Nero Folder to (for Windows XP):
Windows\System32
But firstly, rename the original Windows file to WNASPI32.DLL.ORG or
whatever (in case you need it back).
If you have ANY doubts about the above, DON'T DO IT!!!
When run from CD, just a couple of small data files and a Registry entry are all that are added to your hard drive...NO program or system files whatsoever are added or changed on your system!
Too good to be true? Well simply download the file below and run it. That's it.
All you have to do is ensure that some blank media is in your CD Writer (Burner).
What you need to know...
Because the download file is self destructing once successfully run (i.e. it DELETES itself if the CD burn was created without errors), please ensure that you have a copy saved to a safe area BEFORE YOU RUN THE FILE should you ever wish to create another CD!
You must use a BLANK non-formatted CD (do not use DirectCD, InCD or other packet writing formats etc.).
The resulting CD is "Closed" (that is, it can no longer be written to) at the end of the procedure, so you may prefer to use CDRW discs at first (because you can, if you wish of course, erase and reuse them)
If you have "Auto insert notification" turned on (as is usual for CD Writers), a menu option will automatically appear when you load the CD (if not, please run the program Menu.Exe which you will find in the CD's root directory (Folder) ).
Some important comments on running MidWavi Pro from removable media:
When run from a CD (or ANY removable media), MidWavi Pro of course expects to find itself on the currently loaded CD or removable media!
A statement of the obvious perhaps but what this means is that if you have only one CD drive on your system and you are running MidWavi Pro from this drive, you cannot play Audio CD’s or anything else that requires your CD drive (that is, MidWavi Pro cannot share a single CD drive to play or display anything that is on a different CD ROM).
For this reason, MidWavi Pro “run from CD” option is only recommended for systems that have two (or more) CD drives, that is, at least one CD only drive and the rest can be DVD/CD.
Again, obviously, this restriction does not apply if you are running MidWavi Pro from a hard (fixed) drive.
What do you get on the MidWavi Pro CD:
You will get a Folder specially created to run MidWavi Pro directly from the CD
You will get a Folder allowing you to set up MidWavi Pro to run from a Hard Drive
You will get our MD5 Checker (details here) built-in to MidWavi Pro
You will get (v2.98 and on - details here) our Freeware 'FreeKapture' built-in to MidWavi Pro TWAIN scanning software
You will get some sample MED sound files
You will get some sample MOD sound files
You will get a CD Cover template that you can print and use
You will get a Menu option offering to install MidWavi Pro to a Hard Drive
You will get a Menu option offering to run MidWavi Pro directly from the CD
You will get a Menu option allowing you to read the 'WhatsNew' text file
You will get a Menu option allowing you to read the 'ReadMe' text file
With the "run directly from the CD" option, just a couple of small data files are written to your Hard Drive (and a small entry is made in the Windows Registry).
In terms of speed, the preferred choice for installation and running of MidWavi Pro is, of course, onto a Hard Drive, but if you have a reasonably fast CD Drive, then it works well directly from the CD.
Because this is a 60 day trial, it is suggested that you burn the file to a CDRW disk thus enabling you to re-use (although at the current low cost of the media, this really is no longer a big issue).
At the end of the burn, the program attempts to 'call home' to display a message on its web site.
We have seen one or two cases where 'funny' screens occur and would advise that perhaps it is most stable when both connected to the Internet with IE (or whatever) running (the authors have been advised on this situation).
Registered users should note that this is a 60 day trial version and should therefore NOT download from here. You have your own registered version and will be given details when you register as to how to obtain it (existing registered users should email supp...@midwavi.com requesting details).
So, fancy the download:
Version 2.99 - 12th September 2007
(Registered users should NOT download this version...see your email for details).

May 2007...Please note that the ONLY official TSoft download for this unregistered 60 day trial file is now from Simtel.
Simtel have changed their download system.
When you click on a Simtel download link, they upload their small (355KB) download manager (for
instance, for MidWavi Pro Create A CD this is called
download-midwavicd.zip.exe).
Depending on your O/S (and settings), if asked, you should allow this file to be run - it's from
Digital River.

You should see a 'progress' screen (if not, minimise your Browser) something like this edited screen depiction:

The resulting download is placed in:
C:\Downloads\Simtel
The purpose of the download manager is to optimise the download speed by using the nearest Server to your locale.

A constantly updated MidWavi Pro Help file is available here.
Obviously, because your CD is 'closed' after burning (see more here), you cannot update your CD if the current Help file (here) is newer than the one used to build the 'Create a MidWavi Pro CD' (the v2.99 CD creation was built using the Help file dated 12th September 2007), but you can download and read the latest Help release.

(Registered users should ensure they are using the correct MD5 checksum i.e. not this one).
MD5 Checksum (see here, but obviously use this Checksum):
a94bc33d60967de781e0f6cef1d5a2ec
(Tip: place your cursor anywhere in the above checksum and double left mouse click to select it all, then use Ctrl C to copy)
(This file was created with the new version 5.90 of Data Net-Burner and makes for far smaller file sizes)
Apparently, the original author of Data Net-Burner has now "sold out" but taken this product with him.
It is uncertain where Data Net-Burner is now obtainable from, but being a fully registered user with perpetual rights of use, we are pleased to report that TSoft will continue to offer the 'Create a MidWavi Pro CD' download for the foreseeable future.
The 'Burn CD Now' link below still maintains some interesting software.
